Egypt to appoint new Ambassador to NATO

Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), welcomed Egypt’s decision to appoint an ambassador to NATO for joint co-operation, noting that the decision will enhance the type of cooperation and increase the volume of joint trainings between the two parties.

Stoltenberg, who stressed on the deep relations and cooperation between the two parties, clarified in TV statements that he met the Egyptian foreign minister Sameh Shokry at NATO’s headquarter, within Shokry’s official visit to Belgium, describing it ‘good and constructive’.

Moreover, Stoltenberg added that he discussed the Libyan file with Shokry as Egypt is adjacent to Libya, which places it on the top of countries to deal with, to bring stability and eliminate ISIS in Libya.
