ICT Minister, ZTE Vice President Discuss Strategic Partnership Future

In the framework of developing and activating strategic partnership between the Egyptian government, represented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology(MCIT) and international ICT companies, the ICT Minister Yasser ElKady received, today, in his office, ZTE Vice President for the Middle East and Africa Huang Dabin, ZTE President for the Middle East Wang Wyun , ZTE Regional Director Hu Shu, ZTE Vice President for Egypt Tamer Fayed.

During the meeting, ElKady emphasized his desire to work together on developing  high-level strategic relations between MCIT and ZTE.  The ICT Minister urged the company to expand its activities in Egypt and provide new job opportunities for Egyptian calibers qualified to the highest standards in ICTs.  New channels and experience exchange  in the field of smart cities and relevant technologies were discussed as well.

For his part, Dabin stated that his company will develop a strategy to grow its business and to provide the necessary technologies to telecoms operating in Egypt, and will review its pillars and implementation phases over the next few weeks with MCIT.

During the meeting, ZTE officials reviewed a model for a new e-learning system that is due to be applied in Egypt for connecting educational processes in a number of schools nationwide. This is a partnership between the Educational structures, MCIT, and ZTE.


ICT Minister Visits Post Office and Centrals, Requests More Customer Service Outlets

The Minister of Communication and Information Technology Yasser Elkady paid a sudden visit, this morning, to the 6th of October City’s Centrals “1” and “2”, and Lilat ElKadr Post Office to follow up on the progress of work and check on the level of services provided to citizens, after multiple complaints of poor service, slow response to their complaints and telephone failures.

ElKady called on the centrals managers to rapidly respond to citizens’ complaints and repair telephone failures. During his visit, Elkady inspected customer service outlets and listened to citizens’ complaints and suggestions.

The ICT minister also requested to increase sales and collection outlets to avoid crowding, highlighting the significance to deliver speedy services to citizens, in the shortest possible time. He also emphasized the need to develop the level of performance of those entities.

The visit comes within the framework of a series of inspection visits—scheduled to be paid by the ICT Minister— to service sites in order to ensure the level of services provided to citizens, determine strengths and weaknesses and work on swiftly developing and modernizing services provided to citizens to meet the public’s needs.


 ICT Minister Convenes with UAE ICT Officials in Gitex 2015, Opens Two Outsourcing Centers in Dubai

At the conclusion of his visit to “GITEX Technology Week 2015”, kicked off last Sunday in Dubai under the theme “the Future of the Internet of Everything”, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Yasser ElKady inaugurated the Dubai office of Teleperformance to provide outsourcing services in the Gulf region.

ElKady expressed his delight to witness the young Egyptian competencies reflecting the scale of development and technical and vocational professionalism of Egyptian youth. He highlighted the efforts of the Ministry of communications and Information Technology (MCIT) in supporting training and professional qualification activities, as well as developing creativity among youth.
The number of Egyptians currently working at Teleperformance, which offers its services through Dubai’s office for the Gulf citizens, is 100. The number is expected to rise to 400 by next March.

Elkady also visited Raya Contact Center where he was acquainted with efforts of Egyptian youth efforts, constituting 95% of the Center staff, who provides technical support and customer service. He urged them to maintain their efforts to raise the level of performance maintain a good image of the country.

The ICT Minister has also met with the Director General of Dubai Smart Government Department Ahmad Bin Humaidan to discuss means of joint cooperation and exchange experiences to shift to the digital economy, build a knowledge society, lead the e-transformation and achieve digital citizenship.

The meeting tackled a number of key issues, discussing the main pillars for building a digital society, and how to benefit from the UAE experience in promoting digital citizenship. This will be realized through providing an integrated digital system that is secure at the national level to gain access to knowledge and services via simple ways and at appropriate cost by providing necessary applications and implanting open source software.

Moreover, Elkady has held a meeting with UAE Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) Chairman Mohammed Ahmed Al Qamzi, in the presence of TRA Director General Ahmed Al Mansouri where they discussed a number of issues of common concern, on top of which is promoting digital Arabic content, and the pillars of IT tools empowerment via e-government to ensure raising the efficiency of services provided to citizens.

Furthermore, the ICT Minister has witnessed signing a partnership agreement between the Saudi Amiotny Company, and the Egyptian Nile Code Company with investments of L.E 5 million. Nile Code is expanding its services to all Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, UAE and the Egyptian market.

Through this agreement, Nile Code will be responsible for research and development, implementation of projects, technical support and marketing services to benefit from the Egyptian minds and innovations in the field of product development, technical support, marketing and various services.

Established in 2011, Nile Code is one of the small Egyptian companies which the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has been supporting in many areas, in addition to being one of the exhibitors within the Egyptian delegation participating in “GITEX Technology Week 2015”.
