Minister of Trade: Egypt hosts the 5 edition of Islamic G8

Egypt will host the 5th edition of the developing Islamic G8 meetings to be held next week under the auspices of President El-Sisi, and with at the presence of Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, Minister of Trade Tarek Qabil announced.

Qabil said that the Islamic G8 member states’ trade ministers will partake in the 3-day conference, as they head their countries’ delegations of investors and businessmen. The Islamic G8 member states- namely Egypt, Turkey, Nigeria, Iran, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan and Bangladesh- aim to discuss at this conference common cooperation and investment opportunities.

Moreover, the conference will see holding the 7th meeting of governmental institutions responsible for small and medium-sized projects. This comes in light of the significance of this key sector in sustainable development, which renders providing funding mechanisms and technical support to these projects a persisting priority that tops this conference agenda.

Trade Minister pointed out that Egypt hosting this conference sends a powerful message to the whole world that it enjoys political, security and economic stability, which would restore national and international confidence in Egyptian investment sector.

The 5th edition of Islamic G8 meetings will include holding intensive workshops on a number of industrial fields, which represents an opportunity to review common cooperation areas among member states.
