Brazilian exports to the Arab World register $5.242.71bn

Official statistics of Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce have uncovered the trade boom between Brazil and the Arab World. This trade boom manifested in the abundant Brazilian exports, estimated at $5.242bn, to the Arab countries in the first half of 2016.

As a result of this trade growth, companies of different economic sectors tend to make use of golden business opportunities which strengthens the economic relations of Brazil and the Arab World.

Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce statistics show that Saudi Arabia seized 23.71 percent ($1.242bn) of Brazilian total exports to the Arab countries whereas UAE seized 17.36 per cent, followed by Egypt which seized 16.65 percent; Qatar and Kuwait seized 2.33 percent and 2.08 percent, respectively.

Brazilian exports of meat to the Arab countries have registered 34.88 per cent, $1.828bn, of the total export percentage in the first half of 2016.

As for sugar exports, they come after meat exports with 26.62 per cent, $1.395bn, followed by grain exports, registering 6.52 percent ($341.64m).

Mineral, slag and ash exports registered 4.63 percent, $242.71m, whereas inorganic chemicals and rare earth metals (REM) registered 6.61 percent, $189m.

Grain and fruits seeds exports registered 3.03 per cent, $158.94m. It is worthy to note that grain exports have witnessed large growth with 113.94 percent as opposed to last year, followed by sugar exports which have risen to 10.09 percent.

Michelle Halaby, CEO and Secretary-General of Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, said  “We are optimistic about the future of economic relations between Brazil and the Arab countries. The late statistics would encourage companies to make use of the golden business opportunities resulting from the good economic relations between the two parties. We are determined to exert efforts to strengthen the economic relations between Brazil and the Arab countries.”
