DFM rises in this week’s early trades

Dubai – The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) saw a positive performance in Sunday’s early trades, backed by the rise of four sectors topped by the banks and transportation.

The DFMGI rose 0.02% or 0.66 points to reach 3,624.35 points by 10:08am UAE time.

The insurance sector topped gainers with a 0.93% rise as Dar Al Takaful went up 3.5%.

The services sector increased 0.8% after Tabreed climbed 2.7%.

The banks sector grew 0.58% due to a rise in Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) by 1.02%. The transportation sector advanced 0.34% as Air Arabia gained 0.7%.

On the flipside, the real estate sector fell 0.5% as Emaar Properties went down 0.7%. The investment sector also retreated 0.45% after DFM Company slid 0.8%.

The market saw trading of 65.27 million shares through 869 transactions, with a turnover of AED 104.46 million.
