EGX gains 136 pts at open on foreign buying

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Sunday’s trading on a positive note, backed by foreign purchases.

By 10:37am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index grew 1.11% or 136.3 points to the level of 12,446.79 points.

Similarly, the EGX70, EGX100 and EGX50 indices levelled up 0.42%, 0.49% and 1.21% respectively.

Trading volume reached 37 million shares exchanged at EGP 122 million.

Net purchases by foreign investors reached EGP 2.9 million, while net sales by local and Arab investors amounted to EGP 1.8 million and EGP 1.1 million respectively.

Edita topped gainers after adding 8.19%, Pioneers Holding ascended 4.38%, Ezz Steel advanced 3.91% and Arabian Cement rose 3.12%.

Heavyweight CIB grew 0.85% to EGP 74.5.

Meanwhile, AMOC dropped 0.82% and Domty declined 0.62%.
