We have close loyal friends whom we always remember whenever we undergo critical historical events and turning points, Greece is one of them. I remember that when Abdel-Nasser announced nationalising the Suez Canal, International navigation guides in Ismailia withdrew except for the Greeks. The Greeks continued to cooperate with Egyptian guides exhibiting unprecedented loyalty.
I recalled this incident when I read in the press that Greek media channels confirmed that Egypt will witness a new era, where it will be one of the hubs of international commerce, through this new Suez Canal. The Greek economic expert Apostolos Tzetzas declared that at a time when the Middle East and the world are suffering from high unemployment rates , wars, and bloody conflicts, President Sisi’s decision to launch the New Suez Canal project proves that Egypt is restoring faith in hope through this triumph for stability, and economic progress.
The inauguration ceremony of the new Suez Canal will witness attendance of Greek’s Prime Minister and a number of his cabinet members. In this occasion, I feel that Greeks are the smiling face whom we always have by our side in good and bad, their genuine and true nature always shows, and definitely they are far more sincere than other faces; faces that are of rainbow colours, that change with seasons.
