Focus on using technology in education and its importance has been growing more and more by the day, according to an international study on information awareness and computer skills. The study shows that most teachers believe that using innovative techniques in classrooms contributes to improving necessary working skills for the 21st century, i.e., critical thinking, innovation, teamwork, communication, digital knowledge and solving problems.

Epson’s General Director Khalil El-Dalu said: “Technology speeds up education process in class rooms. In the coming years, regional education sector will find out new ways to create active learning environments that encourage innovative thinking and interaction. Teachers face the challenge of turning traditional educational spaces into connected borderless environments to enhance innovation and sharing knowledge. It is also possible that education in regional educational institutes would be improved till it becomes high quality interactive expertise, by applying the most advanced techniques in classrooms. For instance, using LCD-3 projectors to create common educational interactive spaces and share documents.

El-Dalu added: “Educational institutes who buy information technology systems need to learn how to use the most advanced available techniques in serving education. Moreover, it is important to train teachers to feel confident while presenting and using such advanced techniques properly while carrying out their work.”

The latest survey conducted by Epson- Europe shows that lack of technology skills is one of the key factors that hinder achieving the maximum educational benefit. It also showed that 38 per cent of clients who buy information technology systems do not cope with latest technologies. Moreover, when faced with challenges of applying modern techniques, nearly 24 per cent of those who work in education pointed out that imposing restrictions on updating equipment represents an obstacle before using technology repeatedly.
