Engineer Tareq Qabeel, Minister of Trade and Industry, previewed the ministry’s strategy 2016/2020 within the ministerial cabinet’s meeting. It includes 5 axes aiming to increase the industry’s contribution by 21 per cent of the total Egyptian product over 5 years and increase the SMEs and private sector’s contribution by 10 per cent. It also targets reducing the trade deficit by 50 per cent. The parliament will approve the licensing law within the current week.
