Endemage is an Arabic word that means “the merging of two”. The brand embodies the chic and fashion savvy through a range of ultra-elegant, floor-skimming, East-meets-West designs. Launched in 2010, creatively named Endemage, quickly gathered a large following of loyal fashionistas.  The brand’s creations are centralised around an Arab-chic style with an air of authentic Arabian romance.

This is how the two Omani sisters Lubna and Nadia Al zakwani introduce their brand; and because we are one of the most adoring followers, we couldn’t miss the chance to meet with the rebellious, elegant, highly educated, cute, pretty and professional businesswoman and designer, Lubna Al zakwani, who had the passion for fashion designing since her early childhood, and insisted on making this dream come true. With the support of her elder brother, she could finally convince her father to quit her study of Psychology in London, and join Esmod, Dubai, to begin her journey of a thousand miles into the world of fashion.

As successful complementary partners and entrepreneurs, Lubna, with a background in fashion design and PR, handles the designing of the collections, while older sister Nadia who has extensive background in business and strategy development manages the production, marketing and business aspects.

What is the source of inspiration for your SS17 collection?

Endemage SS17 ready to wear collection is inspired by the “Kuma”, a formal traditional headdress by Omani men.

The detailed Embroidery usually comes in geometric or floral patterns and designs. It is handmade by the locals using heavy threads and thick needles to pierce holes into the fabric.

What are the latest colours of this season?

This season’s colours come in sophisticated muted focusing shades of nudes, white; which I personally like, and elegant grey.

Have you ever been to Egypt?

Unfortunately I haven’t been to Egypt, I had planned a trip a couple of years ago but had to cancel due to some unrest in the country at that time. I am definitely hoping to visit soon.
